Load Shape Development and End Use Analysis Projects
Customer Response Data Base
Client: Electric Power Research Institute
Developed 12 prototypical commercial buildings using an energy simulation model, for developing base case and alternative measure end use load shapes for 7 climate zones. An iterative process was used to modify the base case energy simulations such that the end use energy results reconciled with EPRI’s end use EUI by climate region. Finally, the commercial load shapes were imported into the RELOAD Load Shape Database.
End Use Load Shape Database
Client: Southern California Edison
Developed over 190 commercial building energy simulations representing base case & various combinations of energy efficient building & alternative technology for four climate zones. These load shapes were used to develop SCE’s end use load shape database.
Load Shape Database Study
Client: Allegheny Power Service Corporation
Developed base-case commercial load shapes for APS Corp. using the ADM2 energy simulation model and DSMSIM model. The load shapes were reconciled to end use EUIs.
Other Related Projects
Worked on many other load shape development and end use analysis projects (see list below). These projects primarily consisted of database development of baseline end use load shapes and end use EUIs, and sometimes included DSM alternatives. Often the DOE2 and MicroAxcess hourly energy simulation programs were used to generate the load shapes, as well as SRC’s LS-Tools, DSMSIM and COOLSIM programs.

Other Related Projects
Worked on many other projects in the areas of technology research and literature review of various measures resulting in qualitative technology databases or catalogs. Several of these projects also consisted of specific technology analysis, such as modeling direct load control of hot water, detailed performance of chillers, heat pumps and other HVAC systems. Many projects entailed verification of estimated savings of specific measures conducted by previous consultants. The following is a list of clients who are included in this category:
